It was the early 2000s and I’d built my dream life: an MBA in Atlanta followed by a glamorous role at Verizon in New York, my path was shining bright.
Yet, my dad’s continuing battle with dementia in London cast a huge shadow. The allure of a career, a celebrity lifestyle, and a country that embraced me – had to give way to a much stronger calling.
Balancing my dreams with duty, I chose to return to London, becoming a caregiver to my beloved father.
Time was fading away for him, and mum needed more time than she could bear alone. I made the choice to share my time, my presence, and my love.
Though marked by sacrifice, this chapter brought profound growth. It’s a testament to the power of family bonds and the courage to embrace change.
Life’s unexpected shifts may test us, but our ability to rise above shines brightly. In the midst of loss, I gained new perspectives, love, and a journey of significance.
